Direct Employers Institute STEM YES!: Free Summer Program

Direct Employers Institute’s STEM YES! is a FREE, comprehensive summer program for Central Indiana students in grades 9th -12th who are interested in exploring STEM careers in a work-based environment. Two 2-week sessions are available.

During each session, students develop competencies in teamwork, business planning, presentation skills, social etiquette, soft skills and career, and college preparation, while exploring and learning about the various fields that STEM has to offer. Job shadowing (at sites such as Eli Lilly, Salesforce, Duke Realty, Dow AgroSciencews, IUPUI Forensic Science and more), research, projects, information technology, and more opportunities are included!

Session 1: Science/Healthcare – June 17 – 28, 2019, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Session 2: Engineering/Technology – July 8 -19, 2019, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Breakfast and lunch are included. A student pickup location will be announced.

SAT Prep Class at BCHS

Registration is now open for the 2019 SAT Prep Class at BCHS. This is for BCHS students only.

This is a 6-week SAT Prep class, taught by BCHS teachers Mrs. Schaffner and Mrs. Hilton, in January-February. Each class runs from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Class dates are Wednesdays : January 23, 30, 2019 and February 6, 13, 20, 27, 2019. March 6 will be used as a makeup day in the event of a weather cancellation.

This class covers Math and English on the revised SAT. Cost is $150.

All registration is online. Payment will be collected during registration through our secure form. The class is limited to 40 registrants and spaces fill quickly.

The mission of the Center for Leadership Development is to foster the advancement of minority youth in Central Indiana as future professional, business and community leaders by providing experiences that encourage personal development and educational attainment. In the program, business and community leaders provide experiences that encourage personal development and educational attainment.

The Center for Leadership Development (CLD) offers 15 different programs throughout the year.
